What We Do
It’s More Than Just a Project, It’s Personal
At 4H Construction & Cattle Co., building a home isn’t just a job, it’s a relationship, a responsibility, and a chance to bring someone’s dream to life. Every home we build tells a story, and we believe that story starts with a name.
That’s why we invite each homeowner to name their project.
Some names are deeply sentimental. Others make us laugh. But all of them help set the tone for the journey ahead. After all, naming your home is the first step in making it truly yours.
A Few of Our Favorite Projects
Below are some of the most memorable names our homeowners have chosen, each one full of character, charm, and meaning.
Our Process, Rooted in Purpose
From selecting the perfect piece of land to handing over the keys, we walk with you every step of the way. Whether we're creating a custom floor plan from scratch, tailoring one of our thoughtfully designed layouts, remodeling an existing space, or building out a commercial project, our process is built on transparency, trust, and craftsmanship.
The Ditty's Process
The Ditty is more than just a build, it’s a walk-up moment. Growing up, I never played sports, so I never had a walk-up song… but if I did, it would’ve been The Ditty. It’s my all-time favorite, and I know every word. So when we got this lot ready to build on, with two sets of plans and a dream, I decided this one would be mine. The Ditty will be the first project I manage from start to finish (with Kyle’s steady guidance, of course). It’s a big step for me personally and for our business, and the name feels right. This project is about stepping up, taking the lead, and building something great while the music’s playing in the background. We can’t wait to break ground and bring The Ditty to life.

The Smoke Shack's Process
The Smoke Shack is a project that hits close to home, literally and figuratively. We were trusted with this rebuild after a devastating house fire destroyed the interior of the home. The clients are dear friends we know through our local FFA chapter, and we were honored to step in and help them pick up the pieces. Because of our deep roots in the FFA community, they knew we were the kind of people who would treat this project like it was our own, and we did. We gutted the home and rebuilt it from the studs with care, purpose, and heart. What started as tragedy turned into one of our most meaningful transformations, and a beautiful reminder of how relationships matter more than anything.
The Orchard's Process
The Orchard is a project in progress that already means so much to us. One of the designers we regularly work with, who collaborates with builders all over, chose 4H for her personal home. That alone is a huge compliment. She said it was our communication, our ability to truly listen, and the way we translate a family’s needs into real plans, timelines, and budgets. But more than anything, she said we care... and she’s right. We do. The Orchard sits on a stunning hilltop carved out from 100 acres of family land, 10 acres set aside just for them. The views are breathtaking, and the setting couldn’t be more peaceful. One of the highlights? A 1,000-pound fireplace we installed as the heart of the home. Cozy, strong, and meant for connection, just like the family building it. We’re honored to bring this dream to life and can’t wait to see it finished.
Commercial Projects

The Fig
The Fig is a 20,000 square-foot commercial warehouse we had the honor of building for two of our very best friends. They’ve poured years of hard work into growing their business, and this space was a big, bold next step—built to handle a booming inventory and an ever-growing client list. Being part of their expansion was deeply meaningful to us, both personally and professionally. The project itself was a fun challenge, big scale, big goals, but Kyle’s years of commercial construction experience meant we could deliver it seamlessly, on time and on budget. It’s one thing to build something great—it’s another to do it for people you love and respect. We’re so thankful they trusted 4H with this next chapter…and that after all that drywall dust, we can still call them friends.
The Finished Look

The Biscuit
The Biscuit was the first home we built under the 4H name, and we gave it that title because—well—you’ve gotta risk it for the biscuit. Kyle’s been building for over 25 years, but this was our first leap as a new company. We poured everything we had into it; time, energy, and resources to put real product on the ground and show folks what 4H could do. It was a spec home built on faith and grit, and it paid off. We sold it before it was even finished and landed several jobs from people who walked through it and saw the quality firsthand. The Biscuit represents a turning point, the moment we went all in. And the biscuit? Totally worth it.

The Lallypop
This home sits high on a hill in the beautiful Mountain Springs Ranch community, and its name has just as much charm as its view.
The homeowners were inspired by Lallybroch, the family estate in the book and show Outlander. They fell in love with the idea of building a place that felt like a forever kind of homerooted in family, story, and a little bit of magic. That love for the story actually led them on a trip to Scotland, where they explored castles and soaked in the history.
When it came time to name their home, they wanted something meaningful but lighthearted. And that’s how The LallyPop was born part castle, part fun, and all heart. We loved bringing this one to life.

The Mac N Cheese
The Mac & Cheese came to life years after we first met these homeowners, back when they walked through The Biscuit and struck up a conversation that turned into a friendship. They shared their vision, their challenges, and their need for more space and better functionality. Both work high-level executive jobs from home, and she also runs a successful Etsy business, so we designed with purpose: room for crafting, inventory, and daily life. Their three-car garage now doubles as a fully air-conditioned home gym. She’s a professional designer by trade, which made it an incredible honor to be chosen as their builder. With her eye for detail and deep industry knowledge, her trust in 4H means the world. The Mac & Cheese is a warm, creative, and efficient space that reflects exactly who they are, and why we love doing what we do.

The Flamingo
The Flamingo was a bright, fun Casita project we had the pleasure of building for a couple who found us through a local New Braunfels Facebook group. After owning their downtown property for over 20 years, they made the decision to retire and move here full-time, and we got to help them step into that next chapter. Named The Flamingo for her love of all things whimsical and colorful, this Casita is full of personality, just like its owners. The project was a blast, and the relationship that grew out of it made it even sweeter. Not long after moving, she opened a local snack and drink stop around the corner called The Tipsy Tuber, which quickly became a favorite among folks floating the Comal River, and even gave our daughter her first summer job! It’s the kind of story that reminds us why we love building in this town and with people who make it special.

The Casablanca
The Casablanca is a remodel story that proves good news and good reputations travel fast. These homeowners were referred to us by two different friends who don’t even live in New Braunfels, they’re from Grapevine, where we’re originally from, and that connection made this project extra special. After living in their home for 15 years, the family received an inheritance from his father’s legacy and decided it was time to invest in the space they loved. We added a proper walk-in pantry (a major upgrade from the closet pantry they’d made do with for years), a beautiful outdoor fireplace for evenings outside, and a custom bourbon case to showcase his one-of-a-kind collection. The kitchen, living room, and bathroom all got a fresh new look, lighter, brighter, and way more functional. The Casablanca is a reflection of the family’s journey, and we were honored to be part of such a meaningful upgrade.
